HELP! Cigarette Lighter Problem! 1988 Volvo 240
Hello,
I have a 1988 Volvo 240 and it only has one cigarette lighter port. I can plug my charger in for my phone and it will work but if it turns it will stop working until I take it out and put it back in again. I have already checked the fuses. Are there any other things I can do to fix this? If so, please explain with detail because I'm new to this.
Thank you!

You are off on the wrong path. It can't be the fuse. A fuse either works or it doesn't. It is close to impossible for a fuse to work intermittently unless you have a loose connection and then it won't be the fuse the culprit. The cigarette lighter and/or the chargers plug is not making a good connection. It could be that the ears on the plug are not sticking out enough to apply proper pressure and make good contact. It could also be the design of the cigarette lighter. Remember that back in 1988 cigarette lighters were to light a cigarette and not intended to be used as a power socket. It could also be fair wear and tear on the socket or plug.

Explain. You'll either get 12 volts DC or not. It could be intermittent because of corrosion or wear, but no more intermittent than improperly plugging it into a brand new one.
