Default Help! Girlfriend needs help between roanoke and NYC (flametrap??)

Howdy--My friend just picked up a 240 in North Carolina and is driving back to NYC today.

Anyway, it drove well the last two days, but today she found it low on oil, and leaking oil at quite a rapid (qt/100 miles). I think it's a flame trap. It should be an adventure, but she doesn't know much about cars and is getting really upset about the whole ordeal. If anyone is nearby her route (preferably closer to roanoke--she's there at 1pm and will be making her way along the route), and could help her clean the flame trap, please let me know--it'd be a lifesaver!

Please call me at nine wun zeven, seven oh fife, fife six six too, and i'll do my best to link you up.

Thanks!

I think this is her route: Roanoke, VA to Brooklyn, NY 11201 - Google Maps

Not anywhere close unfortunately but I doubt that the flame trap maintenance will help at this point. While it might have been the initial cause of the leak, now a loss this massive is something else.

Too bad I'm not at home. I live off I 81 in WV. There is an independent Volvo specialist in Martinsburg WV. See the link below:

Just don't run the car out of oil!

I agree with lev, I don't think a new flame trap will help slow it down very much.

too bad it didn't happen earlier, as I'm in northern central nc, in greensboro, and would've been glad to help.

hope she and the car get back safe.
