Default Help Wanted on identifying steering shaft

Hi all,
I am looking for some help in identifying a type of volvo steering shaft I have fitted to my American car. I had fitted a 240 volvo rack on the car using some shaft parts from a 2nd hand parts store but I do not know what the parts came off. I modified these to fit my car and am now looking for another shaft with the correct splines on to fit the knuckle joint on my steering colulmn.
I suspect its from a 740 or 240 but cannot be certain.
The splined shaft in question is 17.3mm diameter and approx 40 splines on with a flat spot where the knuckle joint bolt secrures to the shaft. This is not tha shaft that attaches to the rack but is at the other end on my steering column.
I have attached pictures of the steering shaft end I require and the knuckle joint it attaches too. For the modifications I am doing I only need the splined part of the shaft as shown in the picture as I am modifying the set up again and in case the mods do not work I would like to retain the shaft I have so I can revert back to original.
If anyone can help me in identifying what model this is off so I can source the correct one, or if anyone can offer me the correct one that would be great.
Thanks in advance for any help.
