High pitched whine in cold weather 240
My new to me 240 developed a high pitched whine the second time I drove it to work. I took it to my Volvo mechanic who looked it over and found that the plates behind the brakes (what are those called?) had rusted down to filaments of metal that were getting displaced by the snow and coming into contact with the brake rotors.
We have had trouble finding those parts. Has anyone encountered this problem and come up with a creative fix?
Thanks in advance.

Backing plates/ Dust shields. Hard to find for an abs car. Is it for the '93?
Maybe from this guy:https://volvoforums.com/forum/sale-t...ard-run-82740/
Or look in the for sale section for someone parting out an ABS? 240.
