Default Hole near the camshaft

Hi,
Have someone seen this before?
Noticed the hole when I was helping a buddy on his B230ET.

the hole you're referring to is that black shadow in the cam seal area? its not well enough focused or lit to see whats going on there.

hole goes through the seal holds one, and one can take a screwdriver down the exhaust valve holder.

phew, that looks like a casting flaw or something. I dunno, but I think I'd be looking for a new head ASAP. you can use the head from any B230F, 240, 740, 940. Turbos have better valves, and different cams but the heads are pretty much the same

oops, B230ET ? we never got the 'E engines over here in the US, I dunno if thats the same or different head casting as the 'F engines we got.

The shape of the hole is quite irregular so as pierce says above it must surely be a flaw.
