hood alignment, two person job?
Is hood alignment a two person job? It's off to the left, and I have a decent gap on the right that let a lot of snow into the engine compartment a last week during a snow storm. Or should I use window/door insulation? --sandra
It doesn't have to be. BUT as far as having gaps on one side, better make sure that previous bodywork is not the cause. If you have gap big enough to let snow in, sounds like a BIG gap... a hood alignment may not be enough.
Have you checked the condition of your hood hinges? I had a hood misalignment, windshield side of the hood had been raised up mainly on the drivers side for awhile I ignored it.
Then one day I opened the hood to a rather loud noise and the hood failing to stay open. The drivers side hinge broke from lack of lubrication, so at least once a month they all get oiled.
It was not easy to reattach the the new hinge to the hood by myself, but it can be done.
As I remember alignment was not hard. You might have failing hood hinges.
Good Luck
