Default Hood issues....hinges went, hood stuck. '90 245

I neglected to oil my hinges, passenger side bent (My brother closed it last) and now we can't pop the hood. initially it would come up about 1/2" we tried pushing the severely bent hood back down to get the drivers side un-stuck and now it won't even do that.

I feel like a complete idiot, and I'm at a loss. If I can't figure this out Saturday I'm going to cut the hood apart with a grinder to remove it.

if you can get you and 2 more,1 in front ,1 on right ,1on left. lift front and then start lifting sides.pull up hard and smooth.then hope fully you can get it up enough to see the hinges.take a metal saw "saw sar" cut the hinges.hope all you will need is just hinges.good luck.

My daughter's car suffered this problem as well. To pop the hood, I crawled under the front and using a long steel rod and a hammer, I tapped on the "bulbous" end of the latch while she held the release in the car. This got the hood to pop open. From there I straightened and oiled the hinges plus re-adjusted the striker plate for the latch till things were all aligned.

Do what he said. Chances are it can be opened without resorting to forcing it open by messing with the latch. Dont make the same mistake I did and ruin your hood by forcing it.

Well this sort of got moved to the back burner but I was able to get the hood open without destroying it. Long story short is, my only "local" yard scrapped out most of their 240's, the only one left had two very bent hinges.

Does anyone know if there are new/aftermarket hinges available? I'm hesitant to go with unknown used hinges from e-bay.

Thanks.
