I need help, I have an 89 volvo 4 door sedan that had a missing cd player when I bought it, it have a harness to the car and too the stereo but I can't figure out what wire goes to what, the wires on the stereo are all labeled but most of the colours don't match if anyone has a detailed list of what each wire is I would greatly appreciate it. thank you

p.s. Specifically the green and blue and blue/white and teal colored wires what do these connect too?

 

Generaly I think the Green and Blue are for the Rear speakers.
Most plugs that connect to the Radio are labeled but hard to see.

Or was the plug cut from the old radio?

 

the harness itself is literally cut down the middle, apparently the deck was stolen out of the car before I bought it, even though I have a strong inclination that the person I bought it from did this and ripped out the speakers as well because he knew he was going to sell it, but that's besides the point, I have all the wires pretty much together or know where they are suppose to go except 4 the green teal blue and blue and white can't figure out where these go or how to match them and I've heard some horror stories about mixing these up and blowing out the dash lights if wired incorrectly I'm kind of nervous about just guessing, as my car has had electrical problems in the past.

 

Is the wires from the car or the radio?
I wish I had a wiring diagram to send you but all I could fine is one for a 940 I think it is different.

 

I just put in an aftermarket radio and bought a wiring harness to attach to the volvo pre-wired connection. I can follow the wires and pins and tell you what you need, but my only question is if a 240 and 940 color schemes and wiring are the same. If someone can answer that then I'll pull out my radio to help you.

 

The radio wiring changes so much it is unreal.

I could post a 940 diagram but I think it is different also.
