I've been trying to get my mpg up and I have hooked up my egr big hose so the engine is sucking in exhaust gas into the air cleaner all the time. The car seems to run fine .. the idle is not as smooth, but i've had worse idles. What are the up and down sides to this? SC

I hooked a vacumm gage to the solenoid that triggers the vacuum to the valve in the big main egr hose. Its funny that the gage responds to to the vacuum for about 60 seconds after you start the car, then it stays closed. this would mean the car does not feed exhaust gas after the engine begins to get warm. confusing
