Default How hard is it to replace a flam trap?

Im asking becuase i have been told a clogged flame trap could cause me to blow my rear main seal. I would prefer it that did not happen.

if it's your first time and or you have large hands/arms, a pain in the ***.

I've done dozens of them, so my opinion is bias.

The flame trap is easy, the oil separator is more work. It is not hard. For the novice, about 4 hours. Remove the intake and the oil separator is right there bolted to the block.

The last one that I did took 1.5 hours start to finish.

Should take maybe 15 minutes to do. Remove the hose and pull the screen out. You don't need to replace it but if you want use the plastic insert.

I forget all the euro. lingo. the flame trap is easier, I thought you meant oil trap.

if you haven't worked on these cars before the engine can look more cluttered then it is, until you find the right angle to put your arms in, etc.
