hey, im new to the forums and new to volvos. i think i may be buying a volvo 940se turbo from a friend of mine. the engine has slightly over 200,000 miles but i believe it has been rebuilt. the car runs great and never has any problems and i think it could handle some extra hp. as of now, it is completely stock. factory turbo, factory boost, stock silicone piping, etc. ive previously owned a camaro z28, honda s2000, and another car that i ran nitrous on...so i've always had a fast car. now ive come to a time in my life where i cant afford such a high monthly car payment every month so im buying this volvo for a steal. id like to mod the volvo and make it at least a 14 second car. the car IS automatic. [X(]my post is to ask what can be done to a 91 volvo 940se turbo? obviously, a manual boost controller, bigger turbo, front mount intercooler, stainless steel piping, etc. need to be done. my concern is how much hp can the stock block handle?
im sure not many volvo owners mod their car in this way but i think it'd be fun and different. has anyone modded a 91 940se? is there any type of volvo "turbo upgrade kit" on the market or a certain custom turbo/intercooler/wastegate setup that people have used with dyno success? what kind of turbo should i use and how much boost/hp can the block handle? thanks for any input!
