Default Importing Canadian 940

Is any one familiar with the hassles in buying a Canadian 940(1995) and importing to the US? Emissions? Safety? And as far as the speedo is it just a swap?

These things are not a problem as long as the car is up to "US Specs", rust is! Why even bother to change the speedo? Not easy finding a nice Volvo in Canada...

That's what I'm trying to find out: is a 1995 940 up to US specs? I have found one with 105,000 miles. I would definitely change the speedo so I'm not constantly having to convert kilometers to miles per hour.

Does it have a sticker in the door jam saying that it conforms?

Just got a call back from Volvo headquarters after I gave them the vin and they said it does comply and all I would need is a speedometer change to register in the US.
