I've had it with dusty brake pads!
I've been using Volvo brake pads for my '86 240 for 23 years. I've been happy with the price and performance. What's not to like?
Since replacing my old 14" steelies with 15" alloy wheels I've noticed how dusty these pads are. Especially on the front which does most of the work. I did new pads all around a couple months ago and new rotors up front. All Volvo.
I'm getting tired of cleaning the wheels every week and still have dirty wheels.
Lay it on me, friends. What kind of pads to buy? PBR? Organic? Metal Master? Cost is secondary. I drive like an old man, which I am. I just need a decent pad that won't shed a lot of dust.
Thanks.

Go with the PBR/Axxis Deluxe...they've reformulated the compound recently, but they still produce very little dust at all. Decent stopping power too, imo. SatisfiedPro Ceramic pads are also dust-free...but they only offer rear sets(ATE calipers) for 240s.
+1 on that! I have akebonos on mine and no dust either, plus FCPgroton has them for a great price!
Does Akebono even offer pads for 240s? FCP and the Tire Rack don't list them and I couldn't find an application chart on Akebonos website.
Sorry to wake up this old thread, but I do finally have an answer to my own question...
Yes, but only for the rear...Akebono Euro Ceramic part#AKE-EUR31. The reason I know??
The outer piston on my RHR brake caliper decided to lock itself in the fully extended position on my commute to work yesterday, completely destroying a 6mo old rear rotor and 1 of my SatisfiedPro Ceramic pads. Fortunately, my local parts supplier had a reman. caliper and the rotor in stock, but no SatifiedPro brake pads. So, I bought the Akebonos instead.
