Default What's with the Dusty Brakes?

I've driven disk brake cars for 30-yrs and have never seen brake pads dust like my 03! What kind of pads do they use for OEM, plain old organics? Are there any good CM pads available aftermarket? After 1-week my fronts look like they are solid black!

You gotta admit though that Volvo has some of the best OEM brakes there are.

Softer pads= better braking.
But have to sacrifice clean rims for it.

I don't mind a little dust, but this amount is rediculous! After a day of driving my rims look worse than my old car after a month. It was a big heavy, fast, SHO, and it stopped plenty quick! I contacted Carbotech and they make pads for Volvos (but wasn't up on their website), might give the cryo-treated CM pads a try.

The Carbo prices are a little steep, about $120 per axle. Might try some Performance Friction, or Hawk pads from Tirerack. Only about $80 an axle.

Rusty, you will enjoy Hawk pads...........they make street to racing pads. I would think that the street pad would work well on your Volvo. I have used them with excellent results.
