Just had the rear breaks done.
So i take my 91 740 turbo to get inspected and of course something is wrong. Long story short, i got new rotors/pads/calipers/emergncy break pads. And i know my stuff and i did need all this, but the car was fine breaking and i did not know that when you get your car inspected that they check EVERYTHING haha. never the less 2 days and 490 bucks later i have my car back. The rear calipers dident work or dident push the pads onto the rotor so thats why i needed new ones. Has that ever happend to any of you guys? Anyway it had to be done and i had money saved up just in case i need it for something and my vovlo was my just in case. Anyway just wanted to post, happy holidays all.
I have been told by a reliable source that Volvo brake calipers are notorious for failing if the car sits for a long period of time. or used intermitently. My Volvo sat in storage for over a year before I bought it and the first thing I had to replace was front calipers. Besides that, just a small burr in the piston bore can lock a caliper up.
