Well, my new to me 91 740 arrived. It's gonna need a lot of work I'm afraid. Not a very good car. First problem, all I have is the key that does the ignition and door locks, apparently there is an entirely seperate key for the glove box and something at the rear of the car, might be the third seat or spare cover. Can I use the VIN number to have this other key made up? I'll be here a lot for upcoming work. Would I be better at a "brick" site? I know I shouldn't expect an E-bay care to be too good, but I was hoping to be surprised.

Check with the Dealer they might be able to make one of the key code was listed.

 

All else fails, just replace the locks....I believe IPD has one for the glove box.

 

You have the VALET KEY. The REGULAR KEY which operates ALL LOCKS in your car is just on another "blank". Go to any locksmith and he should be able to make you a key OFF the VALET key on a regular blank which should work ALL locks.
