Default Fuel Line leaking near gas tank.

My 95' 850 would smell like gas after a fill up and it reported getting 14 mph. On closer inspection I noticed that a little spot of light brown liquid that smelled like gas was dripping off the tank under the car. It appears that out of the three small tubes going into the tank, the top one is wet looking, and it looks like its dripping down the side of the tank.

I'm pretty sure its just the end of this tube that is leaking gas, do I need to replace the whole tube? or do I need to just replace a small segment.

If you mean the large one at the bottom, no.

If you mean out of the three on top, yes it is the larger one (out of the three, its the one in the middle), I looked at it closer it looks like it has a tiny hole in it.

They commonly crack and leak. Sometimes you can replace it easy. Sometimes you have to drop the tank some to get to the back clamp on the hose.

I had a problem with the fuel pump housing where the tubes that the hose quick connect fittings connect. The plastic had cracked around the tubing and only when I filled the tank did it leak. I used epoxy to seal the crack and filled a a bit the recess in the housing. It's still holding well. Might not be the same problem but anyway it might help.

I just found out about this myself - it is where the heat shield bolts to the tank by the exhaust line - some people have had leaking at the bolt point. I have seen different information about if it expires or not, but it was classified differently in different states. The problem was more prevalent in hot southern states.

i have a similar problem in my 850 too, or atleast i suspect so, but how do you view all the tubes for the fuel line? can you just look up from under the car, or does stuff have to come off first?

The recall I am referring to is actually on the drivers side of the tank and is visible without taking anything apart. Right where the exhaust pipe passes next to the tank heading toward the rear of the car, there is a heat shield that is bolted to the tank. Where the heat shield bolts is the problem area. Apparently in the hot months fumes escape, causing the smell, and eventually a leak forms.

I checked, the bolt near the heat shield is not leaking, the leak appears to be on the other side than the heat shield near the fuel pump.

So I don't think I qualify for recall.
