I am trying to find the gent who has a 75 in burgundy and looks just like mine as he has lowered it but to no avail so...

I'd like to do this on the cheap and if someone has some spring heights and rates I can get it done. Oh and love to see some fellow wagon owners rides! Thanks.

www.ipdusa.com they have some really nice lowering springs and can help you with trhe conversion. You're most likely going to need new shocks/struts and bushings too.

FWIW, the new style IPD springs are pretty tame compared to the ones they sold a few years back. One of this forums main sponsors, fcpgroton.com, sells Lesjofors lowering springs and they are progressive springs...just my opinion but I think the progressive springs give a better, firmer ride. If you lower your car beyond what these commercially available do, you'll be wanting to run either 94 Suburban 4x4 shocks on the rear of the 245 (2-2.5" dump) or S-10 shocks if you go really low. For the front, super low dumps mean either high dollar coil overs or home made ones. Lowering the rear beyond what the IPD, B&G, Skandix or Lesjofors will mean making or buying an adjustable panhard rod as the rear axle moves to one side as the car is lowered; beyond a certain point it not only is very apparent, it affects handling.
Hey, if you're on a mega budget, just take a cut off wheel and cut 1.5 coils off the front and 1 off the back. Won't have to buy any new shocks for that. Be sure to remember to cut the bottom of the front springs and the top of the rear springs.
This is a 245 with IPD lowering springs...if you don't know Volvos, you wouldn't even know it was lowered. This was taken the morning before it went into the shop for a motor transplant so it's pretty dirty...

Thanks swift! That stance is about what I am after and I may cut the springs depending on what I find upon getting the suspension apart. I have a feeling I will be putting a lot of new parts in so my budget might warrant using the stock springs. Discovered turbobricks and have already been looking at some goodies. Loving the 245 for sure!
