Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for recommendations here and hoping you can help.

I've got about $4,000 to spend on a used car. I've always been partial to 240s but never have owned one. Can someone suggest a particular model and model year that has a good reliability record? I prefer the sedan but will consider the wagon, too.

Look for either a 240 or 740 that should be in your price range and a reliable car.

 

Any 240 model between 1985 and 1993 should prove very reliable. I've had great luck with mine.

 

What's wrong with pre-85'?

 

The pre 85's were B21 which was a reliable engine but most of them had mechanical injection which had more touble the the electronic fuel injection.
