Default Low cost steering racks

This is in reference to my 1987 245 GL...

Do the Cardone remanufactured racks work and last okay? Anyone had any problems with them?

They seem to be available from several sources. I know about Kragen; your order arrives at the local store and you go pick it up. Has anyone dealt with Auto Parts Giant.com before?

Through Kragen (about $195):

Through Auto Parts Giant (about $157):

Cardone works good.

We use them at work and never had to warranty one in the last year.

Not to sure how long they last only been there for a year.

Hi Jerry,

I bought my steering rack from this place http://www.carsteering.com/ last year. It was a little more expensive ($225) then the ones you're looking at but it came with a 36 month warranty (I'm not sure if the ones you are looking at come with a warranty), and so far has performed flawlessly one year later. Just another avenue for you to check out.

Dale
