the Mercedes M104 engine's oil sender is in a real ugly place to reach, above the starter, and under the oil filter, only accessible from under the car and then only if you're a total contortionist.

but yeah, other side from exhaust, and not a rubber connector, was a hard plastic insulator around a metal sleeve connector that the wire is soldered to, and yeah, Mercedes connectors are almost all designed to be disassembled, and rebuilt. they love round pin-and-sleeve connectors, even on their relays.

In the 97 seconds of research I have done, that sender ONLY makes the guage go. Does NOT ground thru block. I could be wrong. Too lazy to give a crap tho. I could figure it out with multimeter and/or research.

You really want to keep the light functional. You really don't need to give a flying crap about oil pressure. It's either there, or not. Too much data will just confuse you.
