Sleek car man. Love the headlights and the wood trim. (I think we have the same gauges, EDIT-upon closer inspection, we have some of the same gauges. Prikrasnaya mashina!)

Thank you for the warm welcoming , thank you for greeting me on my language. In Bulgaria, you can rarely see preserved retro cars, because they are not many and they are badly treated. Finding spare parts is a big problem here and this is the reason why owning and managing with such a car is a little adventure. I think that in USA, Volvo 240 is a respected and liked model and I'll find valuable information here.

My Volvo's engine is 2.4 diesel (D24 VW) I don't know i it is popular there, i someone has any impressions rom it, please, share them.

welcome to the site, and very nice looking 240!

yes the 240's here are very well respected, but the d24's aren't.. at the dealership I worked at years ago, we refered to any volvo with the "diesel" badges as an "anti-theft" volvo

I have a strong passion for diesel, especially european diesel, so welcome!

I find it strange that you say old cars are treated bad there. I find all cars are treated bad here, unless its from a careful owner or someone who likes the brand. Otherwise people barely meet the minimal requirements.

Welcome!

Nice car. There are a handful of people in the US that appreciate Volvo 240s with the diesel engine. With fuel prices high and some people brewing their own biodiesel these cars have become more valued.

I wouldn't mind finding a Diesel 240.

Diesel, popular in USA? Most prefer gas, more easy to work on, supposedly. You have some highly sought after gauges. Tachometer, ambient temperature gauge, oil temperature gauge, just what a Volvo Grand Luxe Executive should have!
The Volvo is defiantly a respected car in the USA if in the right hands of course. Too bad no one respects them in Bulgaria...
Get any compliments on it?
Does it stand out of the crowd of other cars like over here in America?

This 6-cylinder diesel of VW works perfect and is economic, there is no unnecessary and in a good maintenance it has a very long life. I also think, that it is not exported in America, but here it is quite popular. I said that in Bulgaria these cars are quite neglected, because they are used long years without any maintenance and this is the reason why it is hard to find 30 years old one in a good condition. I just had luck with my 240 and when I dirve it, people like its good outlook. In general, my dream is to have an American car from 60's but here it is really hard and now I'm glad to have one Opel from 1963, made by GM. I was very happy when I naught the 240, because it is almost a rock'n'roll car
