Yeah I learned a long time ago to bend those lines around a socket to keep from kinking or breaking.

 

Well the motor is back together but it won't start for more than a second. I did at one point find my distributor had fallen off the shelf in the middle of the night. I bet it ruined my hall sensor.

 

Nevermind she runs, I just have to build the exhaust and tune the motor, then i'll take a few vids.

 

What was wrong that it did not start?

 

I don't know, i got it back together and the next thing you know it didn't want to start. Stared at it for awhile. Tapped the fuel lines with a wrench and fuel distributor/injectors. The it fired right up and ran. Hasn't had a problem starting since. So i don't know, maybe the fuel distributor froze up a bit, maybe their was an air bubble in the lines. I don't know.

 

OK cool glad all is good now.

 

Scratch that, won't rev over 4k rpms. Must have a fuel issue somewhere.

 

Quite possible. Fuel filter new?

 

Everything except the lines are new in my fuel system. I think its just a case of classic example of it being Kjet. I didn't run the car for almost 3 months so it's probably working some things out for itself.

 

You might want to mess with the fuel Dist. They are known to gunk up as well. Maybe a strong fuel system cleaner might help as well.

 

Yeah, I have a friend with a Mercedes 8 cylinder fuel distributor that is very similar to the fuel distributors found on the real group A cars. Possibly I can switch to that for extra fueling and also they are supposedly a little better at tailoring how much fuel can be flowed. I have a spare set of the gold injectors that are a little larger too.

 

Now my front cam seal is just pumping oil out. The one thing I didn't replace on the head, so of course it would fail.

 

I know the feeling!! Been there done that.

 

Man you let a car sit for a while and it starts getting problems. Now i'm redoing the steering rack because it somehow became bad witting there. I.E.it has hard spots and easy spots. Usually the sign of a bad rack. But once i get it running well all around I'll take it to get the exhaust put in. Then I guess start recovering the interior.

 

Yes cars are bad like that.

 

Parts I needed have a rrived. I hope to get it running well tomorrow and i'm taking videos.

I would have helped you with the interior. but your to far.

 

No videos this weekend. I spent a lot of time getting it running right and stuff then it just wouldn't run correctly at all. Won't rev over 6k regardless of what I do. So i'm thinking i still have fuel issues. BUt getting closer every time. Broke em loose in second gear though, not just a chirp, but actually loose.

 

Glad it is getting better a little bit at a time. Hopefully soon it will be ripping up the road.
