It was the signal wire from the tach in combination with a power wire for the system relay. I need to build a new boost pipe system.

The large holset turbo will take some work to get to fit. But when your done you will have zero power down low and tons up high. The car will be a handful. I forget who over on turbobricks did a holset swap and he does autocross. He spins the car out in every video he's made, cus when the pwoer comes on its so great. It's really just a straight line option. As for the t3/t4 hybrid you can definitely make your own or buy one. But if you are thinking about a ball bearing turbo better start saving. A good one that you would want to own would be about 1200 buckaroos.

MOre problems. Started the car yesterday started right up and idled, tapped the gas and it shut off. Now it doesn't want to start again. Seems to only randomly fire on one cylinder.

I have lots of parts. No its just always a hassle with these cars. And you know i have nevered owned a saab so i thought i would give it a try. A friend with one has been extolling their virtues to me, and even though they are fwd sounds like i could make some nasty power easily.

Thumbs up

Wow! Just read the entire thread...quite a project. I know how you feel, contemplating selling. I get in the same boat every couple of years. Get it 90-95% finished and something else craps out. Regardless, lots of hard work there!!

I've actually gotten a lot done on it recently. Taking it to a friends shop tog et properly tuned in a couple weeks then its getting repainted. Then I'm replacing the seats and door cards then its done. And i'll probably sell it in the winter next year. Like to get some joy out of it. Not just work.

Did you figure out if it's a special order car?
There are a few ways to tell for sure.
How much are you asking?

Edit: Doh!!! Frankensteined it!! Should have looked at the date but it's really cold and I had a glass of brandy while I read the thread.
