taking off the a/c belt...
I have a 1994 940 Turbo wagon--the alternator belt broke. I am trying to remove the a/c belt so that I can get the alternator belt onto the camshaft. How can I get the belt off? People tell me to use a flathead screwdriver to jump the belt over the pulley, but they don't tell me HOW to use the screwdriver to do this...HELP!!
Yes, they use the same method. On the alternator it is located beneath it and on the A/C compressor it is located above it. Hope this helps. Sorry for my prior confusion.

Got it done. Loosened the bolt directly under the alternator; loosened the bolt that was in the slide bracket just above the a/c compressor; removed the a/c belt by wedging a small screwdriver under the a/c belt at the camshaft pulley; turned the camshaft bolt CCW and pried the belt over the top of the camshaft pulley; when that came off, I loosened the pivot bolt on the alternator and moved the set screw CW to get the alternator low enough to get the belt ALMOST on; put belt over top of alternator pulley and use screwdriver to get it back into the groove (turning pulley CW); turned set screw on alternator CW to get the tension right; a/c belt went on in the exact same way it came off (CCW over the top of the pulley)...
