Default My dad's 1994 940- coolant leak! Need help asap!!

I've just replaced the water pump but I'm still leacking coolant. It's coming from the undercarriage right in the middle of the front wheels. The leacking just started and I replaced the pump 3 days ago and it was going fine. I drove up to the gas station stopped everything was fine I came out to see 3 drip streams from the above mention area. Within the time to pump my gass I had lost about half the coolant. Got it home I was less then a mile away, and added more to see a slow single drip from the same area. Any advice would help. My dad just passed and I'm fixing up his car.

This is the area the leak come from. Don't have jack stands so not great pic. I feel like the hose may be bad. I just redid all my upper hoses but not lower.

wash the (cold!) motor with some gunk foaming engine cleaner, hose it off, let it sun dry, refill the coolant (use cheap green coolant its easier to see), start the engine and see where its coming from. in addition to the water pump, main radiator hoses, and thermostat housing, there are also smaller diameter heater hoses that go back through the firewall to the heater core under the dashboard.

my rule of thumb is, if one hose has failed, replace ALL of them as the rest aren't far behind... the heater hoses near the firewall often get neglected, and will fail when you least want them to.

Is it possible that the top water pump rubber seal did not set properly in the head and has started to leak under pressure.

Do you know if it's just normal hoses or special order parts? Most the other house I did were cheep just finding the gauge I need, but some were like 60$. Any insight would be helpful thank you!!

The seal is great I cleaned it used a gasket sealant and then made my own gasket. The ones that came with my new water pump were just trash.

I would double check it anyway. I have don't use sealant nor have I had a bad gasket on the water pump. Do we assume you used similar thickness gasket material. Also where did you use sealant and how much. You also may want to re-torque the WP.

the small gasket that goes up under the head overhang is a tricky one, but if that was leaking, you'd see coolant all over the outside of the water pump.

ps. if your replacement pump came with crappy gaskets, the pump itself is likely equally crappy.

What do you mean by "bad"?Torn? Didn't match up? And by the way, that area in the picture is not the middle of the front wheels. It's the passenger side of the engine. And there's water hoses under there that go to and through the oil filter mount, which act as an oil cooler. I'm guessing the leak is there. My distributor seal leaked and dripped oil on those lower hoses and dissolved them. If you need custom, shaped hoses the best deals are usually at https://www.rockauto.com/ . Even with shipping charges they're still cheaper than fcpeuro or eeuro, and they're a lot quicker as far as shipping time.

What I meant by bad was completely wrong gaskets for the smaller one(dint match right with the hole and kept folding up I've made gaskets before ) but the large one was right. If I was going to make the smaller ones I was just going to do them all. And thank you for the sight I will be using them definitely! The leek looked like it was from the center before I was able to get under her and see and get pictures.

It doesn't look to be water pump related, it's too far back. There are other possibilities up there, even an external head gasket coolant leak.

For an update fond the coolant leak, was retaing coolant. Then I was driving down the road and I see white smoke from every where pulled over and parked her. Was able to start her again with ease but the smoke continued. There is oil residue in the tail pipe. It looks like oil started to explode out the turbo. Any ideas?
