Here she is. I came across a US spec 1991 745 n/a automatic that I couldn't pass up. The seller could not get it to pass inspection and I picked her up for $200. Thanks to the outstanding amount and quality of information in the Volvo faqs I have solved the 2 main issues with the car. The brake lights were fixed by the lamp out indicator relay (took a lighter to the solder), and the transmission no longer shifts at very high rpm after adjusting the kickdown cable (all the way lose).
We originally bought it to flip and sell for a profit, but I really like this car and we will keep her through at least this Winter. Plans for now are fixing a very small exhaust leak, full tune up, fixing the intermittent hot re-start fail, and maybe a set of oem wheels.
Anyways I'm new to Volvos and have experience with Nissans, DSMs, and some others. I've been in Germany for about a year (active duty military), and used automatic cars are difficult to find and fetch a premium here, so I'm looking forward to eventually cashing in on it.
I'd really like to pick up a 740 turbo manual trans next.
