Default Nearly shredded a timing belt

Resealing a water pump (a couple times) made me remove the upper timing cover. The metal spacer in the bottom bolt somehow got loose and fell down in the crank area. The noise this all made was... interesting.

I know you can stick a drill bit in, but my oil filter vise grips worked perfectly for the tensioner:

$11 later and an hour of work, mostly on accessory jack-screws, and I can brag about having a new belt in there, and of being good for zillions of miles yet to go.
