As in the title, im a new member. My names david, I have a 91 volvo 740 gle and im here for some advice on a few things.

If anybody can help me, i am in need of a driver side turn signal cover,and a rear passenger side tail light assembly. Is there any place i can go to look for these at a decent price aside from ebay?

Also, is there a bodykit or something i can put on my car to replace that ugly black plastic bumper?

Additionally, are there any rim suggestions for my car? Im wanting to replace the ones that are on it, with the centercap and ten spokes.

Im trying to somewhat modernize the car, to keep it up with the times, since i know these things run forever.

Also, my dad has a 93 760, just kinda throwin that out there.

Anyway, thanks for any comments or advice.

Junkyards, but hard to find front lenses there, rear ones, may be... Ebay IS best.
Body kit? I hope not!
Rims? Pretty hard to find fitting that car but the ones you have sound just right.
Modernize the car? Why?
Sorry, but the last year for the 760 was 1990, in the US at least...

 

Hey David, sorry man but the 700 series was out of date the year they hit the street. LOL! I had a 740 and loved every minute of it. They are great cars, not built for style, just good - safe - reliable transportation. Volvo has been making Kick you know what turbo's for years and still can't shake that good old safe reliable transportation reputation.

One good thing about it though, people that purchase Volvo's are basically considered to be smart people that don't blow thier money.

Besides all that, the only things I have seen on Volvo's that make them look really good is the skirts and rear fin that came on some of the turbo 740's. Wheels always helps as well. Have not seen any skirts lately but you should be able to get a trunk fin. As for after market parts, www.ipdUSA.com might still have some parts you can use. There is also a salvage yard close to me that still has 740's on their yard. They are called Volvo's Only and they can ship you things (501-849-2484). They are working on getting a website up and running.

On the 700 series, I like the 5 spoke wheels. They look a lot sportyier. Hope you enjoy the car. Still wish I had mine, I let it go to a single mom that had no ride.

I will try and put pictures of my volvo up soon, and thanks for the tips on the parts i need, the junkyards in my area have limited volvo selections just like anywhere else, and i havent found anything i need yet. But i will check out that site you recommended RSPI.

As i said, adub is on to my point with the front end, i just want somethin to give it a lower,slightly more aggressive stance.

Also, anybody have the pegasus replica wheels on their 740 that they can show me a pic of? I saw them on the forementioned sight ipdusa.com and i wanted to see a picture on the car, and a review of the rims if anybody owns them.
