new member with BIG problems
Hello to all
spec's first
1988 240 wagon, 2.3L non-turbo ?b230f? , auto, between 500,000 miles to 750,000 miles ( odo broke 7 years ago )
I have a serious problem. I have been fixing my mothers 240. Fixing idle/ lack of power and it turned out to be the breather tube to the flame box and the flame trap. I got a new box no problem but my tube is now broken. Tried to clean it and it broke. The top nipple is completely broken. How do I remove the pipe?
Remove the oil pan and pull it out?
For clarification its the tube within the block that goes from the oil pan to the flame box/breather box. what ever you wish to call it.
Thanks for reading!
I love the car, and it works great, love to keep it, so i dont have to buy my mother a new car

That's the oil return hose, or drain hose. Unfortunately the only way to do a proper fix is to pull the oil pan. But to do that you have to lift the engine a couple inches. Naturally you need to unbolt the motor mounts first so you don't just pull them apart. Not a very tough job but not fun.
