No high beams, No 4 way flashers
On my 1990 245DL clicked the stalk to put on high beams a few nights ago. Low beams went off but no highs, no hi beam dashboard indicator. Bulbs are O. K. The relay coil must be working as the lows go off and lows go back on when stalk is clicked again. It would seem to be a bad contact off of the relay to the brights. Where is the relay on this car. Is that it near the battery?
Different problem as this condition happened earlier. The 4 way flashers don't work. I was told that the same flasher unit also works the turn signals which are in good order so it probably is not the flasher unit. When the 4 way switch is activated a heavy hum or buzzing is heard like a huge overload maybe a short. Where should I look to find a possible short. Trouble is I don't have a schematic. Maybe you can tell me what color wire that might be involved. Thanks Ed

RE: No high beams, No 4 way flashers
I think the turnsignals and the hazards work from 2 relays but not 100% sure follow the buzzing to find the relay. For the Headlights have someone click the highbeam switch and try to find the relay clicking for the low beams and i believe the low beams and the high beams work off the same relay also.
