Default the button of hazard warning flashers doesn't work any more

Hello everybody. I have a 2002 s40 1.9T.
Last night, a friend at passenger seat pushed this button accidentally. The four-way flashers worked but couldn't be stopped by pushing this button, I tried many times to push this button, but the flashers kept flashing, until I pushed the button hard to stop it.
Unfortunately since then, the hazard warning flashers button doesn't work, that means I'm unable to active the four-way flashers any more. Btw, the right or left turn signals work well.
I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what needs to be done.

thanks!

Hi tony, thanks for your reply.
I'm happy for I can close this issue now, it wasn't any problem at all. The points are:
1. To softly press the button of hazard warning flashers;
2. About its position: up is on, down is off.
When it was at down position already, I still tried to push it down...
