no start? or no cruise control? thats two entirely different issues.
cruise control is not just a relay, its a fairly complex system where the cruise control stalk, the speedometer, a whole pile of sensors and switches are connected to the cruise control module, there's a vacuum booster, and the vacuum modulator that pulls on the throttle pulley under the hood.... _any_ of these things can cause it to malfunction. first thing I'd check would be the vacuum lines.

Speed Cruise Control
Hi Pierce - My Garage !
I am sure glad to be a member of this Volvo Forum because due to your advice I was able to fix the problem on my cruise control. Yes the culprit is the vacuum line which is connected to the intake manifold. I am also replacing the other lines which are old and hardened. Again thanks for the advice. cheers!
