Default Not seen a waterpump failure

Well it looks like I'll be putting a 3rd waterpump in my 89 740. I seem to recall replacing the original pump at around 200K miles so the other day I just turned 382K and the pump started making noise. So it looks like I must have had a premature failure , haha . The strange thing is that it appears this is a 2 bearing system as the pump didn't leak but the front bearing was shot. Front pulley was wobbling and noisy. I pulled the pump today and the bleed hole was dry but the front shaft is loose. So I just ordered a new one and will have something to do this weekend. What ever happened to reliability.

be sure to use real volvo seals, especially for the top one that goes under the end of the head, the aftermarket seals are garbage
