Default Power Steering Pump Replacement

I need to replace the power steering pump on my 96 960. The pulley bearing is coming apart. You can actually see the ball bearings when you shine a light into the pulley at night while the motor is running. Has anyone did this replacement and is it a tough job or fairly easy? I some wrenching on my cars so I think I could handle the job, only want to know if there is any secrets I should be aware of. Thanks

Not very well known is the fact that the pump can be rebuilt.

If you have the time, the rotor and seals are available at the dealer. If you need a bearing it's probably a common one available at the bearing store in your town.

I did not know that. I will take apart the pump and try and get a bearing. I cant find a used pump anywhere.

Default Power steering pump replacement

Well, I finally replaced the power steering pump. It was not a difficult job at all. Took about 2 hours at a snails pace. Didn't want to make a mess so I took my time at it. All is good now.
