O/D Solenoid Replacement
Hey guys, I have been searching and can't seem to find the "how to" pdf or video for the solenoid block plate replacement. Would someone point me in the right direction? I also crawled underneath the car this morning and couldn't seem to find the solenoid. Granted, I couldn't get all the way under because I don't have ramps yet. Thanks for the help!
Thank you! I was looking at Google images and found it. I always forget about searching that way. Looked on YT and nothing. It's ordered and on the way. This car is running so well other than this issue.
I'd rather just save time and headache with the block plate and be done with it. I live where it's fairly flat and don't tow anything with this car. It's just a grocery getter, so having the pushbutton for hundreds of dollars and hours of my time is not worth it to me. I know there is a relay, solenoid, and pushbutton switch/wiring that I don't feel like messing with for the time being.
With my 740 it was kind of easy to replace if you have ratcheting wrenches. A full size ratchet with a socket will not fit under there easily and using a common end wrench will take time. And floor jacks with bricks works just as well as ramps do, granted it's not as fast as ramps.

Turn the radio down or off.
Travel at the minimum speed in which the OD should kick in ( for me it's about 40 mph).
Press the OD button the side of the shifter lever. You should be able to hear a faint clicking sound if the relay is working. If not, then that may also be an issue.
