Odometer in hyperdrive
1990 DL240 Wagon
Today, I was driving and checked the speedometer, I was expecting to see approx. 60 MPH, and I did. I then noticed the previously non-functioning odometer working, overtime that is. I would estimate every 200 feet or so the trip meter and odometer would add 1/10th of a mile. I reset the trip meter to no avail. At no time did the speedometer become questionable or non-functioning.
I picked up my wife and never turned the car off. We headed home and now the odometer and trip meter are working as it should. Anyone every have the odometer go into hyperdrive like I did?
Thanks in advance.

Doesn't seem possible. The odometer and speedometer are almost identical to a master and slave clock, there's no way for the odometer to move faster than the speedometer. Are you sure it wasn't your imagination? At sixty miles an hour the odometer would be ticking a tenth of a mile over precisely every six seconds.
