Long time Earth-Destroyer
First Time volvo owner.

I purchased a 1990 740 GL
asthetic problems

My odometer/Trip dont work.
as in Don't move/rotate

and one day I was toggling with the small ***** attached to the dash, and my lights went out.
Funny har har..
So I started hitting it.

and when I got back to my apartment and realized that I just needed to turn the dial..and my lights dimmed and brightened..who would have thunk?

and I had 22 miles difference.

I have been driving this car for a month.. 32 miles roundtrip from apt to work.
and those 22 miles are the only difference I have found!


I need to fix this odometer!
suggestions?

Check the connections at the back of the speedo assembly.
