Oil filler cap completely stuck
Hello,
I have a 1989 Volvo 240 and when I went to check my oil recently the oil filler cap was completely jammed on. I can move it about a centimetre but that's it. Apart from that there's no movement from it at all and I need to somehow get it off because when I last checked it was in need of oil.
Is this a characteristic thing with 240s with a solution or should I just try pry the cap off and get a new one?
Cheers!

i would 1)get a new cap and gasket and then 2) throw a rag over it and use channel locks to try to twist it off. The gasket is likely seized on to the valve cover. It might crack / break so thus the need for a new one first.. if it doesn't then you have a spare.
