I need to change the oil and oil filter in my '89 740 GL, and I have realized that the manifold is blocking a clear access.
Does anybody know the trick to get to it? I am trying to use a oil filter wrench, and cannot get around the filter with room to turn.

 

Do it from underneath, 30 second job. Buy yourself a couple of ramps for convenience and safety.
