Looked at 93 240 wagon today

Interior is ok, drivers seat has some loose bolts, trunk-door latch is broke (wont snap to close)
Only minor surface rust on some underbody parts, red paint is faded but no peeling (southern car)
Father -> Son car, might have been a lil neglected in the past 2-3yrs but with no visible harm at least.
High pitched squeaking sometimes, driving on bad roads (suspension or interieur - couldnt figure it out)

Has some minor quirks, only problem:
Engine is leaking oil - seems to be quite a bit - from valve cover gasket or front main!
(on the side between exhaust manifold and belts in the front)
Its not greasy-dirty - its fresh and wet.
Timing belt is also due withn the next 10-15k miles - repair of the oil leak would aso include belt change I guess.

Drives ok - although its only half the pleasure with automatic, hehe

Looking at 1900$ without haggling etc.
(initially wanted 2500, 2200 painted on the car windows - now 1900$
apparently someone else (didnt show up) offeed 19hundred)

I need opinions about the oil leak on the engine, the price and everything else about this car [&:]

 

How many miles? But it looks OK by the pictures... for the money. It may need head gasket (oil leaks) but even so if the rest is OK, the price is not too bad unless it has a LOT of miles, like over 200K.

 

Has 155k miles

 

Personally I think the price is a little high but with the interior that clean and the third seat, it does not seem too bad. Valve cover gasket is $10 at napa and is easy to put on. Front main seal not too expensive but rear main will run from $350-$750 depending on where you go. as far as the squeaks go my 89 244 DL squeaks all over.
