So..
Listed the car for sale, drove over 1000k in 3 days (with no faults and full load), registered the car to my name (was waiting for my payday), insured it (3 months) and finally, ordered the gas "carb" repair kit (mine isn't working due to broken membranes and gaskets).
And, soon I'll get some chrome trim, tinting windows, updating audio, repairing headliner and hopefully repairing the alloys or changing them, we'll see.
But, the car is working fine, no faults, no nothing. And since there hasn't been any interest about the car, I'll probably start doing maybe even more small things to it..
Thinking about cutting the cat off and upgrading the exhaust, but will it make any difference, besides a throatier exhaust note?

Carburetors on a volvo 240/740/940 with a catalytic converter? what year/model car and engine ARE we talking about?!?
re: hacking the exhaust, on any volvo brick I've had, I seriously doubt you'd get anything but more noise and pollution out of modifying the exhaust unless you've also done EXTENSIVE engine modifications to greatly increase the total air+fuel flow

um, if you're running some kinda aftermarket LPG system on your volvo you're pretty much on your own.
it does look like your air input hose is kinked, that could restrict the amount of air at full throttle high RPM and negatively impact performance.
how is the LPG metered? LPG gas mixers aren't actually carburetors, they are air-gas mixers, sort of another form of fuel injection, and somehow the gas has to be metered to match the airflow demand of the engine... does it still use the MAF/AMM ? (thats what provides the control signal for how much gasoline would be injected on a conventional car).

The air hose is kinked, due to the gas input point. It doesn't use the MAF to control LPG input, but it uses vacuum generated by the intake system to measure the amount of gas needed. It's kind of old-fashioned, but hopefully, after the membranes are changed, it will work.
But, I have no idea, how to remove the kink from the air hose. I don't want to remove the LPG system, maybe cutting the hose a bit will help? But, then again, will I be able to reattach it then..
The system is specially made for Volvo by Vialle, and already ordered some parts off ebay. Hopefully they are the ones I need.

so the stock fuel injection system is completely disabled? or is this car setup to be dual fuel so you can use either gasoline/petrol or LPG ? if the EFI is entirely disabled, maybe removing the MAF entirely would give you sufficient room to unkink the hose.
or, replace that elbow piece between the MAF and corrogated hose with something shorter. and or replace the elbow AND corrugated hose with a longer piece of corrogated hose, as long as you can achieve a reasonable air-seal against the air filter box.
