Please help with 240 parts
Hey guys I just bought a 1990 240 wagon and after removing the rear brake assembly I see that there are no start adjusters. I been looking all over for them and to no avail...please help if you know of someone who has them and or maybe even a part number so that I can search them I would really be grateful.
you're talkiong about the parking brake adjusters? I can't help but think that without those, you wouldn't have ANY parking brakes.
the adjuster is volvo part 677525 and sleeve 677528, this sits between the two parking brake shoes on the back side, parts 48 and 49 in this diagram...

Got it Lev and thank you!!!
The car did not have any ebrake when I bought it, the cables were seized and there was a set of old brake shoes in the back along with a few various springs. They were removed because the ebrake was locked up. I also found that I have a bar that looks like a long stretched out H and that go where the star goes. Now I am wondering if the adjusters would still work and or if I don't use them will I have enough adjustment in my cable....of course if I don't use the adjusters I'll use the big H.

Hold off on buying things: you may have everything you need there--just clean and lube everything, make sure you put things back correctly. "Seized up" is usually caused by rust... I wouldn't improvise with brakes modification--not worth the risks. Just do it the Volvo way and all will be well.
I think I am also missing #54 and #53 from the illustrated picture of the brake down. I am not sure what that assembly is and or what it does. My parts should be here any day now so I'll let you know how it goes with the big H shoe spreader. Oh by the way ....do you know #54 & #53 are and what the do?
hmm, assembly 52 (everything in that box) is described as 'service kit', 54 is 'rubber block', 53 is 'bracket'
my 240 is out of state with my college daughter so I can'tlook and see wtf.
