Questions About Parts #s for 1991 Volvo 940
First, thanks to the forum for offering me the simple solution of backing the pulley off the water pump instead of messing with the PS pump belt tension. It worked like a charm and now the water pump is replaced as of last night. Awesome!
However, I'm left with a question regarding the new in box OEM waterpump that came with the car, part number 271975. I noticed that the weep hole is on the top side of the pump, whereas the GMB pump it replaced had the weep hole on the bottom. Further research shows pictures for the above part number with the weep hole on the top, on the bottom and possibly on both sides. Is a reason for this or is it a big deal? For now, the water pump's installed and that's where it's staying.
The second question is regarding replacement parts for the driver's side mirror (black, not body colored). When I bought it, the housing was snapped off. Although I'm sure I could glue it back together, I may just replace it altogether. For some reason any replacement mirror assemblies I find are only for 1992 and newer 940s, but never the 1991. It looks identical and the only thing I can come up with is 1991 was a transitional year for the 940/960, so they may not consider the part valid until 1991. Can anyone share any experience regarding this? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Glad my short cut tip for the pump pulley worked for you!
Don't worry about the weep hole on the pump.
The '92+ mirror will work on the '91 as long as you replace the WHOLE mirror! The actual glass has a different attachment to the base, however, (ring vs snaps) so watch for that.
