Im new here at these forums, but I have some questions for my baby (1990 740gl).

First one is about the dome light on the roof of the interior. It only turns on for me when I hit the switch. Is the dome light supposed turn on automaticly(sp) when you open the door?

My dash is very cracked. I tried to find a repair kit, but couldn't. I bought a dash cover carpet thing, but it just covered the very top of it and looked bad. If anyone knows where to buy a good quality one and looks good would be appreciated.

And lastly, I looked on the net for 1 hour to try to find some Euro lights for my car but was unsecessful. They probably don't exsist, but maybe someone out there knows somewhere.


Any info would be appreciated. I want my baby to look good, im sure you guys can understand that

 

Check the switch position and the door pins.

Thanks for info. I tried all the switch positions, but didn't work. I haven't looked at the door switch yet, so thats probably it.

Edit: I have looked through your links, and I found some interesting stuff. I already have a couple things on order

 

Let me know how you make out with the interior light.
The assembly might also be bad but look at the buttons first.

 

I checked the door switch and the interior light assembly and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I am thinking its the wiring or something.

 

The light switches go bad and soemtimes need to be replaced but you will have to do some modifications for the new one.
