Radio Code for used 940
Just bought this Saturday a 940 with 87,000 miles in great condition. It had been sitting on the used car lot (Joe Rizza Ford in Illinois) since June and didn't start up right away.
After giving it a quick jump, it purred and I bought it with trade-in of my junky minivan for $2,500, something i'm really happy about.
One issue i'm running into is that the radio is stuck in a EEE status, after trying to guess the radio code (one is not in the manual)
The vehicle VIN is YV1 JS8313R1159761
Is there any way the code can be emailed to me at 'eddieverity@gmail.com' ?

He's right any dealer should be able to help you out, (or volvo specialist if theres one near you.
just as a note.
Since the radio is in EEE from trying to guess the code you will need to have it reset back to "CODE"
Just leave the radio on for a couple of hours to have this happen.
You dont need to have the car on or running for that couple hours continuouly. just have the radio on when your driving.
I drive a half hour to work each day, so in 2 days mine reset its self.
Hope this helps

I have a friend who had the 'no code' problem. He took it to a mechanic friend who showed him a little trick:
Sometimes the code is printed on a sticker on the radio. Pull it out and you might find it.
Good luck!
God Bless,
K

Just call a Volvo dealer's service department and they should give the code over the phone. I know, the idea is if a thief stole the radio he shouldn't be able to get the code without proof of ownership, but these radios are not on anyone's radar anymore so dealers will give them out over the phone-my experience, anyway...
Third try's the charm. Looked through service manual, but it's apparently missing that card which has the code printed on it.
The third service department I called was able to give me the code over the phone with the vehicle vin#. Now I just need to wait the 2 hours of drive time to clear the EEEE status to try it out.
-Thanks!
