Random stalling on highway 1990 740 sedan
Hello everyone
I have a 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo Intercooler Sedan and when I am on the highway traveling my car becomes unresponsive to the throttle then stalls. When this begins to happen I will attempt to accelerate and there will be no response until there is a small acceleration. I will then pull over and try to start my car and it will putter out until it stalls out. This usually happens when I am on the highway. It died 10 minutes away from my house and I waited 10 minutes for the car to cool down and it worked. I have replaced my crank sensor, relay for the fuel pump, bellow. I checked the fuel pump and the pressure is fine. I recently had the throttle body cleaned because when idling there is a slight rpm shake. I noticed the last time this happened the air conditioning was on while I was on the highway.
Thank you please help I want to get this taken care of and keep my Volvo on the road!!! I am at 305,000 miles!!! THANK YOU!!!

Recent TB cleaning makes me think of the throttle position switch
test/adjust that
just a guess as this may be a tricky issue
Hi there, I have 1990 245, would die without warning also, more often when I turned left, as funny as that sounds. I replaced the in-tank fuel pump on top of those steps you took, both filters, both pumps, relays, mass air sensor and O2 sensors. Its been better and more reliable, since then . Good Luck
