Rear disc Brake pad piston stuck...
Unable to press piston back into sleeve. Brake pad worn to final 1%, so piston extended maximum contact with rotor position, Rotor is OK, surface smooth and even. Cannot budge piston with steel bar and rubber hammer blows.Suggestions to efficiently depress brake pad piston away from rotor so as to allow for installation of new disk brake pads.

Hey wmpopper, I've had a similar frustrating experience I was able to get both rear outside pistons to move, but couldn't get the inside pistons to budge. I think I'm going to try a C-Clamp next.
What I found really odd was that the outside pads were worn all the way down, but the inside pads still had about 30% of their life left in them. I ended up just replaced the outside pads. At some point I need to get the inside ones done as well. I'm just hoping that they aren't froze which would require rebuilding?

Thank you zloetakoe for your experience with the rear pistons. As I have only done the right rear wheel this afternoon, the outside pad was worn almost to the backing material and the inside pad had less wear, as you noted as well. Looks like I will be trying the C Clamp technique as both inside and out pistons solidly in place...
