Default Refurbished Bosch Ignition Coil vs New Skandix Ignition Coil

Hello all!

my car has been out of commission for three months and today my friend help me identify that the spark was too weak and causing the engine to flood and it’s been a nightmare.

The thing is, less than four months ago I purchased a refurbished Bosch ignition coil from my 1993 Volvo 240 and it died in less than five months, so I’m feeling apprehensive about purchasing another refurbished Bosch ignition coil.

There is a guy I watch on YouTube, “Involvo’d”, who relies on Skandix parts for his cars. The only company I found that offers an apparent new Bosch ignition coil is Eeuroparts, and I do not trust that company because they sold me something else for my car claiming it would work for my year make and model and claimed that it was genuine Volvo and it did not work and was made in China, and it turned into this long, drawn out battle I eventually won but they ended up getting to resell the part I sent them back in for the core unfortunately and I don’t trust that company anymore especially seeing as they are the only one that has an apparent “new” Bosch ignition coil.

Anyway, has anyone else used a new Skandix ignition coil for their 240? Thoughts?

I’d really rather buy something I know is gonna last more than five months while I’m chasing apparent gremlins because we hadn’t thought of testing it because it was so recently purchased and not really consistent with the codes and symptoms I was getting but today we tested for spark and it’s too weak esp on cold days.

We did look, and there is no cold start injector on this car.

Thank you!
