Default very hot ignition coil

Okay, everybody, the ignition coil on our 1993 940 wagon (B230 FD) feels superhot after ~1/2 hour of driving. The resistance checks are within specs: 1 ohm between primary coil terminals and 7.93 kohms between secondary coil terminals.

On our 1987 740 turbo, the ignition coil does not run that hot.

Does the superhot ignition coil mean a breakdown in the future?

Thanks.
